Silva Psychology services can be commissioned on either a needs led basis or, through flexible contractual arrangements. A school may contract Silva Psychology from as little as one day per term or have much more regular involvement such as one day a fortnight. All contractual arrangements (which are more cost effective) will need to be agreed ideally at least one month prior to the scheduled period of work.
Independent Schools
For independent schools, where parents often request EP involvement (and pay the fees), Silva Psychology provides parents/teachers with a broader service beyond advising about a range of special educational needs. Silva Psychology also provides assessment & consultation for all children, including those developing broadly according to age expectations or higher.
Silva Psychology provides:
- An overall child assessment covering current levels of literacy & numeracy attainment, cognitive ability, self esteem, pupil aptitudes, strengths and interests. This baseline assessment then informs a negotiated educational plan for the future with the child’s teachers/parents specific to the individual child’s needs, strengths and interests.
- Child Assessment & Programme Planning for Gifted and Talented Children in order to enhance and further develop the child’s special gifts or abilities at school and at home.
