Testimonials

Sangeeta has been incredibly helpful and supportive to me in many aspects of my role as SENDCo. As a school we have recently used her for a Home-School Phonics Reading Project as well as individual pupil work. Sangeeta is very approachable, knowledgeable, flexible and efficient. Sangeeta communicates well with all stakeholders including school staff, external agency professionals, parents and children. Sangeeta is always happy to discuss assessment results and concerns in order to give children the best chance in school. The children like and enjoy working with her, making the assessment process smooth and easy.

As our traded EP, Sangeeta helped us to assess those children who were a puzzle to us. Either the children concerned were not making good progress or our behaviour targets were just not working. Sometimes there was a query over why the children were struggling in school generally. Sangeeta was able to talk and advise staff which was very reassuring professionally, because they were being taken seriously. Sangeeta also undertook observations, parent discussions and individual child assessments where appropriate. All of this informed useful suggestions for ways forward. Sangeeta has always been very approachable and easy to talk to which as a busy SENCo is very reassuring.

Sangeeta assessed our 6-year old son, who has an extreme passion for and is gifted in Maths. Sangeeta arrived with a full set of comprehensive assessments, and she went through these with our son in the comfort of our own home.  Having our son assessed was such a big help, because Sangeeta was able to provide his (independent) school with essential information about his abilities and provide extremely useful suggestions on how we, as his parents, and the school could support him and keep him challenged.  The assessment was not daunting or difficult in any way.  In fact, my son enjoyed it so much, he asked if he could do more!!  I have found Sangeeta’s approach to be very professional and friendly and her advice sound and helpful.  It is very obvious that she is so experienced at what she does.  I would recommend her without a doubt.

Sangeeta Silva made me feel at ease with my child’s difficulties. She supported and encouraged me to realise my son’s strengths, when often other agencies seemed to focus on his weaknesses. This, for me, was of incredible value, as it not only helped me change my way of thinking, but also helped me cope better with my son’s needs. Sangeeta’s positivity throughout a worrying time was priceless. She was very approachable, and took the time to listen to all my concerns, no matter how trivial they might have seemed. When Sangeeta assessed my son, he was very happy and relaxed in her presence. He even seemed to be having fun and did not want the session to end! I would strongly recommend Sangeeta’s services to any parent.

Sangeeta worked with myself and the pastoral team to try and help us with mapping the provision of the whole school.  She was always approachable and realistic with her ideas and findings.  She has a broad knowledge of SEN and brought ideas and resources to help us set up social skills groups. Sangeeta was always professional and flexible and was happy to work with us in the way that suited our school needs.

Sangeeta is highly regarded amongst all of our staff. Her knowledge and enthusiasm are unequalled as is the quality and delivery of her work. She has an unremitting focus on improving the lives of children and has been instrumental in assisting our school to achieve this aim.

Working with Sangeeta on our Anti -bullying Policy was a great pleasure as she always came well prepared with fully researched information and ideas. Guidance and encouragement were also given to allow us to incorporate our own thoughts and values. Sangeeta was always flexible and the support was delivered with a great sense of humour.

Sangeeta has been involved with several different pieces of work at our school. Most recently she has been working with the reception year team to develop a speech and language programme for a group of pupils, to support them whilst they wait for speech therapy from the local authority. Following extensive discussions with the staff she has assessed each pupil independently using several standardised tests. Sangeeta then worked with the SENCo and reception teachers to analyse the results, which acted as a baseline for writing an intervention programme for these pupils. The reception teachers have benefited from working with Sangeeta due to her expertise. She has made the teachers feel empowered about the programme as many of their ideas have been incorporated into the programme. All staff that have worked with Sangeeta have commented specifically on how positive and useful her work has been.
